If only there was the right support for elite players

Max (made up name but based on a real story) is a 20 year old footballer.

He has, according to the manager that signed him “The most talent he has seen at his age”

At 18 he was on 500 pounds a week

Overnight he went to £16k a week.

He bought a house.
His parents stopped working and moved in.
He bought a car and £500 pound slippers.

He kept being late for training
He was fined (no effect)
He was sent out on loan to two different clubs and quickly built up a reputation of having a bad attitude and won’t make it
He lost his driving licence

He then didn’t play first team football for his club and was training with the reserves.

He then didn’t even play for them.

The club which signed him then paid him up and he was released and signed by a lower league club.

6 weeks later, that club ended his contract.

Now Max is without a club and any direction.

Max isn’t a bad egg.

I know Max and have spent time with Max

Max is scared
Max doesn't trust people
Max can’t form meaningful relationships
Max isn't vulnerable
Max can’t form good habits
Max doesn’t sleep well and hence doesn't train well
Max’s home environment is toxic
Max has no great role models in his life
Max soon will be scrambling around the lower divisions or even worse, will not play professional football and may get into trouble
Max is 1 of thousands of these stories.

Can every Max be helped and prevented, maybe not.

Does that mean we shouldn't try, absolutely not.

Does Max deserve a network of people who want to care and help him, absolutely

Is it easy to help Max, no, but it could change his life forever.

Athlete Life Coaching was set up for the Max’s of this world

We hear and see you Max and want to help

Love to all the athletes struggling out there
