What comes first for elite athletes?

Here is a question for you?

What comes first?
"Poor mental preparation and readiness or poor physical performance?"

Of the hundred's of professional athletes I have worked with in my career, I can genuinely count on one hand those that actually weren't that fussed about playing and had somewhat checked out.

It is the exception rather than the norm.

It is also easy to watch from the sidelines and think that someone not running or trying is someone who doesn't care or has given up.

But beneath a poor performance or a seemingly lack of effort or will can be a mental state not at it's peak

Not focused
Not engaged
Not hungry
Not confident
Not alert
Not intentional
Not ready

These are all mental actions and pre sets which then determine the physical output.

Athletes need and must work on their mental aptitude ALL THE TIME!

The physical takes are of itself through training.

Thoughts. Feeling. Emotions.

These matter.

My mission is to reduce the stigma and closed mindedness of professional sport about the impact that mental training and life coaching can have.

Trust me, although it is improving, there is a huge gap to fill.

Love to all you athletes out there who need support to optimise your mental capacity.

I and the team at Athlete Life Coaching are here for you.
